Student Reflections

What my students are saying...

Laura

Laura took private lessons for two years to prepare for and recover from surgery on her foot. She gained an incredible range of motion through her spine in addition to building excellent balance and core strength. Watch her video reflection.

Julie

"Alyssa is probably the most conscientious and professional instructor I’ve had in the more than 20 years I’ve been practicing yoga. She pushes herself to continuously learn and grow in her craft and her classes strike the perfect balance of rigorous exercise and therapeutic grounding."

Erin

"Having Alyssa as a teacher has helped to evolve my yoga practice both physically and spiritually. Not only is she incredibly knowledgeable about the body and physical healing, she offers a spiritual practice rooted in the principles of yoga. Her class styles vary, from natural movement and restoration to flows that activate muscles that are often neglected in our modern lives. No matter what, she provides an environment that is safe for all to move, breathe, and be present. I have had the pleasure of working with Alyssa in one on one sessions as well, which helped me to tailor my practice to my personal needs and goals. I would recommend Alyssa to anyone and everyone looking to deepen their relationship with yoga and themselves!"

AJ

A day or two after my beloved cat passed away I went to Alyssa's class and held back tears until savasana - they quietly streamed down the sides of my face. Alyssa came around giving grounding touches and pressed down on my shoulders and forehead. I felt a sense of love, warmth and healing. It made me feel a deep sense of connection to humanity, which I think that yoga often does. And made me feel like this too is something I can get past. This experience reinstated that yoga is so much more than a physical practice and that this is a community I want to immerse myself in.
